Brendin's Birthday Party

Brendin had her Birthday yesterday. She was so excited to turn 6. We had our friends over for cake and ice cream, but when I started taking pictures of the party, our camera batteries died. Here are the pictures before the cake got eaten. Thanks to Ellis's, Mitchells, Horals, and Zoucha's for coming over.

Reuben's Suprise

I sent Reuben out to run arrands for me, and was he in a suprise when he got home. I decided to paint our Pantry. He got home to see all of our pantry items on the counters and the clips for the shelves all broken. He was not impressed to say the least. He gave one of those "Romney..what have you done" looks, and shut himself in his office. He emerged to check on my progress, when he noticed that I was using the EXTERNAL paint for the outside of our house. I got another "Romney" look....with an "I can't believe you did that." I later had to ask him to forgive me so that he would go and buy new clips and install the shelves. He is my hero!

Here is Randi playing in the empty pantry.

Brendin's Sleep Over

Kelly's Mom's 50th Birthday

Kelly Ellis asked us to make a couple of cakes for her mom's 50th birthday party.

The first one Reuben made. They wanted a camoflauge cake...and I think it turned out awesome! He even made the grim reaper that went on top.

I made a whimscal Jello cake that her mom requested. It took a long time to get it all together, and we were working on it up until the last minute. Brad & Kelly even even came over and helped.

My New Adventure

Reuben's sister Rachel has been making cakes for about a year...and she has been helping me get started on my own cake decorating adventure.

Here is my starter kit... (Notice Shanda's hand sticking up in the back...she was supposed to be hiding)

This was my first cake for Karen Ellis's Birthday.

This is a Chocolate Fondant cake that I struggled with, but managed to save it.

The girls love to decorate cakes....and make a mess!

I think they ate more frosting than they got on their cake.

The missionaries came over and helped make a "golden plates" cake for a district meeting they had. They said that everyone loved it.
